PrairieCat approached Cherry Hill in 2023 to do a much needed redesign of their support site. The PrairieCat support site needed a new design and information architecture, a members-only area of the site, a staff intranet, and a documentation site with resources. The PrairieCat support site was built in Drupal 9 (and later upgraded to Drupal 10). The site is based on LibrarySite and customized to suit their needs. Cherry Hill built 3 distinct areas of the site – the support site, documentation site, and a staff intranet. The support site is the public facing site and the purpose of the site is to provide information and resources. Users can also find out about the latest news and events and can become a member to get access to important information and resources that help you run your library. The website has a custom L2 integration that allows users to login to the sites and sync their calendar events.Once you become a member of the PrairieCat consortium, you will have access to the documentation area of the site which includes policies, procedures, instructions, code lists, software downloads, statistics, and forms. This part of the site is configured to work like an online handbook with a table of contents and a pager to jump to specific sections of the documentation. The third area of the site is the staff intranet which provides information for staff on a variety of topics including payroll, benefits, policies, procedures, expenses, and purchasing. It is completely separate from the public facing site with it’s own custom theme. Access is based on permissions dictated by user roles and permissions. Cherry Hill continuously works with PrairieCat to make improvements and add new features such as Member Forums.
